I haven't had time to work it out but the reason for the 'send email'
option was to pick up the address/subject and content from existing
fields in the solution. I'll have a look at your suggestion thank you.

Lee why not try using the Open URL step instead? With Thunderbird set
as the default mailer, this works for me:
Open URL [No Dialog;
"mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]@provider.com.au&subject=The
Subject For Today&body=Hello,¶How are you"]
