The answer is Thunderbird cannot be triggered. I replaced Thunderbird as the default email with the OSX Mac standard email and the script 'Send Mail' works fine.

Maybe they will address it in the future.

Send Mail works fine for me on both a PPC Mac and Intel Mac with no apple scripting. My email client is Eudora. Perhaps Thunderbird cannot be triggered? I think I remember that only some email clients worked with FileMaker.

Hope it will work with Thunderbird. I'm sure many of you are aware of this:

Qualcomm has announced that they've formed a partnership with Mozilla. 7.1 is the last commercial version of Eudora. Future versions are going to be open-source and based on the source code for Thunderbird. See < http://www.qualcomm.com/press/releases/2006/061011_project_collaboration_mozilla.html > and < http://www.eudora.com/faq/>.

They're selling 7.1 for 19.95 with 6 months of support. If you're using sponsored mode now, you're going to need to either upgrade to 7.1, which they say will continue working in sponsored mode indefinitely even when they discontinue the ads or switch to light or paid mode at some point.

So, Filemaker folks should get busy.
