Even better,  at least in Win98,  is "msinfo32.exe".
Software environment,  running tasks,  will show you what is running.
"Startup Programs",  will show you where autostart programs got
loaded from.  (registry,  startup, ect.)

"System Hooks" will tell you if anything has "hooked" into (for
example handling mouse and keyboard events).  Hey Brad, I wonder if the
pregnant pause you see might be caused by a secondary program having hooked
the keyboard on you?  I did see a case the other day where it looked like
a popular virus scan utility had hooked the mouse and keyboard... just
curious.

I believe there is a similar version of a W2k utility which has
similar functionality,  or this is a sub set of another app in W2k.
