Hi,

I agree with your opinion except three points :-)

1) Most users, who browse through internet and webpages, read only
some parts of a page. And this paragraph should make publicity! If one
is interested in FreeDOS, than (s)he will read also other pages, also
FreeDOS's Wiki etc.

a) If one is searching for a DOS, because (s) he wants to play a DOS
game, then (s)he will use FreeDOS, even if there is no message
including _old_.
A "99%" or "100% compatiblity" message would be ok.

b) If someone heard about FreeDOS and browse the frontpage (s)he
doesn't want to read, that it is for old software, (s)he wants to
read, what is possible and what (s)he can do.

If you write f.e. : It is possbile to start Window's MPLAYER, than
some people will think "Cool" and will be more interested in FreeDOS.

==>Conclusion for me: the frontpage should ONLY make publicity, if
somebody needs information, then there is Wiki and other pages.

2) There is a driver from Paragon-DOS, which supports also Linux's
file system. Only basics...but it is possible to access and copy files
from these partitions. This would be also interesting for f.e.
FreeDOS.

3) Yes, there are many things, which are easier in a DOS-Box. You have
multitasking, etc. But: DOS should support this as an operating
system. I don't like the idea, that an operating system needs another
to be useable.
==> Maybe some things are easier, but it should be a goal to bring
this things to DOS. And maybe there will be a developer who has the
knowledge to do this.

btw: Japheth is such a developer who makes things possible with
HX-Extender which seemed to be impossible.

Bye
 Flo
