That is not true. I just tried, and I managed to find and download DeCSS
in less than 10 seconds using the most apparent route (search on google).
It's available in tons of places should one be willing to work a little
(the source code is in a bunch of old slashdot stories for example). I
recently downloaded a patch to add DeCSS support to one of the Linux DVD
players as well - the enemy has not even managed to keep it from being
used as it was intended.
I have had DeCSS available on my website since the whole thing broke out
without hearing anything. I haven't exactly advertised it, but the address
is not secret and it can be found.
Also note that both the "I am spartacus" and "Wack the mole" defenses
worked great in the Metallica vs Napster (you can't claim it has become
difficult to find metallica songs). We may not have the sort of momentum
that Napster has, but should the emenies of freedom be successful in
shutting down Napster and Gnet (and should we continue to improve our
program) we may very well soon (the biggest threat to this project is
obviously the amount of undeserved press attention we have had - but we
knew that all along.)

'DeCSS would be fine. Where is it?'
'Here,' Montag touched his head.
'Ah,' Granger smiled and nodded.
