OK, i'll try to do what i am able to do.

:-) I feel the same intuitively. The product is rather complex to
solve the situation by dummy's efforts - a systemic solution required.
Extended characters are a global problem not for the particular
application but for Zope, http, proxy etc. That is why no
french/german/etc sites don't have extended characters from their
national alphabets in their urls.
