Hi David (et al),

I loaded my SM1000 (Ref D) with v3 firmware today and it seems to be working very well on air.

My SM1000 is connected to an Icom IC-7100 using the accessory connector, SM1000 modified to give more audio drive into the ACC connector.

I'm using FreeDV together with a HPSDR/PowerSDR to monitor and transmit back to the SM1000.

The only thing I have noticed is that when in 700D mode, I get a continual burbles and squeaks from the SM1000 when tuned to a free frequency.  The Sync and Clip/Error LEDs flash almost continually.  The audio level from the radio into the SM1000 doesn't seem to make a difference, very low audio levels from the IC-7100 into the SM1000 seems to make this happen.

I get the occasional flash of the Sync and Clip/Error LED in 1600 mode, but until it actually starts decoding a 1600 transmission, it remains silent.

Hello List,

A few months ago Mal, VK8MT, spotted a few bugs in the SM1000 user
interface. I have had a go at fixing them, integrating the latest 700D
modem tweaks, and adding the automatic microphone equaliser:

I've also tweaked the doco, adding links to the V3 binaries, and fixing
a glitch in the example wiring diagram:

If you are interested, please try it out over the air and let me know
how it goes.

On power on you should hear 'V3' in morse, followed by the current mode
(ANA for analog if it's a fresh reflash).

Thanks,
David
