Re the Clip/Error LED there is a user manual here: https://github.com/drowe67/codec2/blob/master/stm32/doc/sm1000_manual.md "Connection to your Radio" (8) has some guidelines for the level that will answer your question. I'll run a few tests here and get back to you! BTW Peter VK3RV is often talking to Jose LU5DKI about 1030 UTC 7.177 +/- QRM each 9South Australian) evening - you might be able to monitor Peter direct on your SM1000 if you're in the shack.
