Yes, you are right. But I am relatively happy with what my tex.spad or mathjax.spad + jupyter gives me, so I have no "itch" at the moment. If I need some tex output for a paper, that is enough. For everyday working, I find my 1d output much more useful since I can cut&paste the output or (especially) parts of it back into fricas. If we had a better 2d cut&paste mechanism, I would probably change my opinion.
