| We probably need two programs: one for the arbiter, and one for the
| golfers. The routines that they have in common can be put into a module,
| but I'm not sure if that is the right thing to do. Installing a module
| can be a problem, especially for beginners.

I hope you aren't being serious. You'd want a beginner who isn't able to
install a module (a Perl-only one, mind you) play golf?
Anyway, you could distribute it with the golfer script. Just tell the
beginners to put it in Acme/Golf or whatever. :)

| I think your script is a good start, and I think I will use it or
| something like it at the next match.

Would you mind offering it somewhere for download, so common folks like me
can learn from it?

| About the next match: I have a few ideas already for the course. I'm
| thinking of holding it around the middle of March. There will be an
| announcement about a week before.

I'm already eager to participate the first time and scared to death by the
thought of seeing the other entries :)

Best regards,
Steffen
