My understanding is that most of the video stuff didn't make it into VPC7 (at least with this initial release).
That's correct. VPC still emulates a S3 Trio card. The Macintosh version is better in that it can give it more than 4 MB of RAM, but it doesn't help at all with gaming and is a nonstandard extension anyway.
