I think the wiflyer sounds like a brilliant idea - that's the only travel router I've heard of that has a built-in modem (wiflyer.com). Too bad Apple doesn't include a modem in a version of the Airport Express.

But I don't travel enough to make it worthwhile (and of course my powerbook has a built-in modem for when I'm at my parents', or a hotel that charges exorbitant rates for a broadband connection).
