I have received today a Maxtor 40GB HDD, Model 6L040L2 2HD STD011, it also
says 40 GB AT Maxtor D740X-6L. Is this the one you expected? How can I find
out if this is a Plus series?

The Maxtor DiamondMax Plus D740X is a different series than a DiamondMax Plus
60.

The 60 had a 60 GB maximum capacity (15 GB per surface) while the D740X has
an 80 GB maximum capacity (20 GB per surface).

Both are 7200 rpm.

The 60 is UATA/100 while the D740X is UATA/133.

I believe the D740X is actually a Quantum product.
