There are lots of problems with Maxtor 40 gig Diamond plus drives, I
don't know about the 80 gig. Macintouch (www.macintouch.com) has pages
with people discussing the Maxtor drives.

I have had problems with two 40 gig Maxtors ant two 30 gig.
