turn it back on. It was optimizing when the screen went blank, so I

the hopes that the Restart button has come up, and that the press of

Sounds like the same problem I had on my G3 DT when installing 10.3 so
I would hit the power switch. One time I had to pull AC. Even had to
start-up from my 9.x.x CD once. To shorten a long story, after
reloading 10.3 about 3 times I realized that when the monitor screen
went blank that the operating system was still doing something. So then
I waited for a very long time, or until HD activity seamed to stop.
So after waiting for a very long interval and using the power switch to
shut-down, when I reloaded (boot) the 10.3 was loaded. However
everything wasn't still Okay, as the monitor would still go blank. I
have "Cocktail" and after running that application things got better. I
ran all of the options in "Cocktail" cron scripts, prebinding, disk
permissions, everything.
