I've just been reading the recent "DVD Burners" thread with great
interest.
My Quicksilver G4 733 has a simple, internal CD-ROM drive/burner. I'd
like to supplement that with an external DVD drive/burner that will
work at least as well as Apple's SuperDrive (DVD±RW/CD-RW) on single
sided media. I am thinking external because I could also use it with
my new 12" iBook which has the Combo drive.
What Brand/Models should I look at? I assume I would use Firewire.
I noticed the enthusiasm in the list for the Pioneer DVR-110D. But I'm
confused. I do not see this model at the Pioneer web site, and listers
seem to use it in internal mount only.
Apple sells the very pricey LaCie d2 DVD+/-RW Drive with LightScribe
16x and Toast 7 Titanium. But some reviews quoted at Apple's site
speak of disaster.
Thank you for all your help, once again. I am in digest mode, so I'll
be watching for the new edition later today.
