USB Overdrive is 20 bucks, more than a mouse with a driver. Yes, it only
nags you once but I hate the concept of paying for a driver that much.
I use a Microsoft Optical as it provides a nice OS9 driver. It works better
in my Beige than in my Windows computer.
I could not live without the second button, the wheel and the side buttons.
Only issue is that sometimes I click the left side button when moving the
right hand from the keyboard to the mouse.
Regards.

Any USB mouse will work, at least the ones with tails. I currently use a
"A4 Tech"with two scroll wheels from a cheapo PC shop. The software from
their web site was crashy crap, but it works beautifully with the "USB
Overdrive" control panel recommended on Apple's site. I run OS 10.3
