My beige G3 (tower/333 MHx/Rev C) is running OS 10.2.6 with no problem whatsoever. I thought I had read somewhere that this model would run up to 10.2.8. However, when I try to install the update to 10.2.8, the installer tells me I can't do it. I forget the actual error message, but it was something about the hard drive.
My computer has the stock Apple hard drive -- actually, two: one SCSI, one IDE. The installer won't let me upgrade either one. What gives here?
