Further to my report of problem installing 10.2.8 on a Beige G3:

I downloaded the update at work, as we have a DSL connection there. I copied
it to a ZIP disk, then copied the update from the ZIP disk to the desktop of
my (home) Beige G3. The disk image mounts, but the installer program will not
complete the installation.

I booted in OS X when I tried to install the update. Should I reboot in OS 9
then try to install the 10.2.8 update? OS 9 and OS X are on separate hard
drives on my Beige G3.
