My personal take on that last message is this: If you don't think it's worth paying for, why are you playing it in the first place? That shows that you have interest in the game, and justifies you paying to get the product. However simple the games are, developers spend quite a bit of time to write them. In the case of Judgement Day--although I didn't buy it because it's not my style of game, but nothing toward Liam--there is a Trophy system which probably has quite a bit of condition testinb behind it to give the player the enjoyment of periodic rewards to encourage them to go on, or to give them an occasional laugh. Things from correct sound positioning to AI coordination take a lot of time to get right, even though it all seems automatic from the player's stand point; all these things are ACTUALLY WRITTEN in the physical sense, and Judgement Day is no exception.
In short, this "it's not worth paying for" attitude comes from the fact that a lot of players don't appreciate the cost and time put into the products--they're looking at one side of the coin, that they have to spend money to play. Of course this is common human nature so there's not much that can be done about it, until the player in question becomes a developer themselves. Munawar A. I work very hard on the projects I produce, and so I find it kind of arigant to say something isn't worth paying for. But then, that's someone's opinion. so. what ever floats their boat. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Parham" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; "Gamers Discussion list" <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, July 24, 2008 2:09 AM Subject: Re: [Audyssey] very important message to liam erven! Lol! I don't think it's only Liam's games that are cracked, anyway. Besides, whatever one does, someone would come and crack the program/game/whatever. My friend tells me that she cracked the latest game of Liam, because she thought it wouldn't be worth paying for. Since I do not play much of audio games anyway, I refrain from giving my own personal opinion on the matter. --- Contact info: Skype: parham-d MSN: fire_lizard16 at hotmail dot com email: parham90 at GMail dot com ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mauricio peixoto de Mattos Almeida" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, July 24, 2008 5:30 AM Subject: Re: [Audyssey] very important message to liam erven! well, well... guess draconis wont mind if this is only 2 sounds, i mean, well, no problems about two sounds.. and well, cracks happens, what can we do, it's life -----Mensagem original----- De: "Matheus" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Para: <[email protected]> Data: 16 de Julho de 2008 22:56 Assunto: Re: [Audyssey] very important message to liam erven! agreed nicol! -----Mensagem original----- De: "nicol" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Para: "gamers" <[email protected]> Data: Terça, 22 de Julho de 2008 20:07 Assunto: [Audyssey] very important message to liam erven! I've been checking the list archives and I noticed a thread where liam complained about people cracking his games. Well liam, I've noticed something which you might take care of. I'm not trying to be insulting or rude I'm just giving a friendly warning. Well, I don't own monkey business myself but I play it sometimes on a friend's pc. I've noticed while playing the demo of super liam that the sound of the monkeys dropping cocanuts is exactly the same as sounds in monkey business. That little musical sound is exactly the same as in level9 in monkey business. When you have to follow the monkey to the teleporter he makes that little musical sound when you are close to him, when you get far behind him he makes another sound. On the beach in the super liam demo I recognize that same musical sound. I heard that same sound when listening to raul playing super liam. The sound as the cocanut is falling together with that little whisseling sound is the same as when you walk into a tree in the jungle and campsite in monkey business. That dish sound is the same as when you walk into a tree in monkey business and that whistling sound is the same as in monkey business when a cocanut hits you . Because in monkey business if you walk into a tree more than once then you get hurt. So liam, you want to take care of that. I don't think draconis is going to be happy if they learn that you are using some of their sounds. Ok its not a big deal, its 2 little sounds that is the same as in monkey business, but if you are concerned about copyright issues and cracking, you should really take care of those sounds by replacing it with original sounds. --- Gamers mailing list __ [email protected] If you want to leave the list, send E-mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] You can make changes or update your subscription via the web, at http://audyssey.org/mailman/listinfo/gamers_audyssey.org.
