Well I suppose so, though it'd involve changing characters, still I do enjoy
necro, however I also enjoy the actual fighting part so wouldnt' want to
miss warrior.

I've been thinking about this, and the result is that you probably want to
play a necromancer rather than a cleric. Sure, be a necro cleric, but
having necro as your primary will let you take all the time you want while
your minions deal with the mobs. My necro char spends most fights lunging
on the sidelines, and I only cast a spell once in a blue moon. Just make
sure you build a clev set and your good.

This to me is exactly the problem with muds, you need to be playing every
fight at such a speed you never get time for the atmosphere when your
attacked.
Don't get me wrong, fast fights are great, I just get disappointed when I
walk into a room and have to concern myself with being quick on the fight
rather than appreciating why I'm there or what i'm fighting.
As I said, it's interesting that this is sort of an access issue, sinse a
sighted person can just skim read the text and get an impression of
everything that is said pretty dam quickly.
