Depends, I'm not entirely sure we're talking about the same thing - have
you used the file from this bug, or your file?
If on "hbal -t" using *the file downloaded from this bug* you get the "-1"
error, then it means that there are some patches in Debian that are
interfering with the file creation. Although that might be surprising.
So need to check the following:
- "hbal -t <file from this bug>": what does this show
- "hbal -L -S xx ; hbal -t xx": what does this show?
