We can change the page title to something like "OSAF -- Home of Chandler Project". And make half of the osafoundation.org page a large image link to chandlerproject -- something nice looking like the one on mozilla.org.
Not a bad idea.
If people don't click on the link then I really doubt they would have clicked on the link to visit hub or downloaded Chandler Desktop so we didn't actually lose any users and we keep our page rank.
I think people don't click on the link because they don't see it. Thought process: "I'm looking for this chandler thing because I've heard it is interesting, but I seem to have found some non-profit software organization, oh well, on to next interesting thing."
It is just a theory, but I've seen this happen when looking over people's shoulders.
We could test the theory of course.
All of these people who aren't going from osafoundation.org to chandlerproject.org, are they deciding they don't want to check out the product for some reason? Did they click on the link in the blog just to check out organzation/product but not download it ( I do this all the time by the way )? The redirect doesn't help us get them as users and does drop our page rank.
If we have *one* chance to communicate information about what Chandler is, we want the material on chandlerproject.org, not osafoundation.org. Even if it doesn't lead to a download that visit, we've sent the message that we want. That said, I agree that dropping our page rank is probably a mistake.
