Well, scanimage -L does not find the scanner. I just don't understand this, the 
scanner is there in the kernel. Everything seems to be in place, but it will not find 
the device. I did check man sane-usb I'll recheck man sane, but I haven't a clue. Why 
is sane-find-scanner finding the scanner device, but xsane won't. Well, thanks for 
taking the time to reply. I shall forge on! :-))
