chattr +i <filename> is your friend. I started doing this awhile back when etc-update decided that one of the 'trvial changes' it was going to make before asking me for input overwrote /usr/lib/sasl2/smtpd.conf on my mail server. Dave -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailing list
