I think that that section of the bug report you wrote is telling me I need to manually edit my ~/.mozilla/firefox/profiles.ini in some fashion. I don't know how to start Firefox in a particular profile. For what it's worth, my 38.1.0 is built with the bindist USE flag set. As far as I am aware, my 31.8.0 was also built with bindist set. I still can't see how to fix this. Would you help me out, please? I don't think 38.1.0 should have been stabilised with this serious problem outstanding. -- Alan Mackenzie (Nuremberg, Germany).
