very true, but its soooooooo much easier to do apt-get -u update, instead of
downloading all RPM updates, then finding out which RPMs are already installed,
then installing the associative RPMs. Its a hassle. Although I have heard they
had a new update utility out called up2date, though I never tried it. Any
thoughts on this tool?

Amen.

Yes, that is what I was getting at. Sorry for my choice of words, but Ive been
slightly disoriented the past few days from lack of oil in my house (which means
no heat, no hot water, no fun).

Also, a cool thing to note is that in Debian 2.2, in /etc/apt/sources.list, they
have a seperate line for just security updates, and thats kind of cool, because
it only updates packages that have known bugs in them, so if you run apt-get -u
update from a cron job, it will update ONLY the new releases from the buggy
software, instead of apt installing a slew of other 3rd party apps along with the
update. Its just nice because you less frequently have to add more apps to your
filters on security mailing lists.

ok, im done.
