Dear Father,

It seems to me a good idea, except on one point : if we don't type the
syllabes in the nabc, we could make mistakes that would be difficult to
"debug". For example, there are quite many pieces whose text was
slightly different between manuscripts. Putting the neumes on our
partitions needs adaptations in such a case ; if we copy the neumes in
our nabc, there could be incoherences with the text of the Vatican edition.
So it would be (IMHO) better to have :

    myscore-laon.nabc
    =================
    name:My Score;
    manuscript ref: Laon359;
    %%
    ab(podatus1)cd(clivis4)

    myscore-merged.gabc
    ===================
    name: My Score;
    manuscript-1:Laon359;
    %%
    ab(gh&podatus1)cd(hf&clivis4)

Doing so, Gregorio coud easily complain to reveal possible incoherences.

This is indeed another possible behaviour, that will make errors visible at merge time... It might be the best possibility yes.

Thank you very much!
