I think it's quite adapted to St Gall and Laon, but things might be
missing for Beneventan and other types...
Dear all,
I thought about something after sending my last mail:
How would you use semi-diastematic notation, mainly Beneventan neumes?
For me there are two cases for this:
1. you use it as a reminder for chanters who know the notation, and you
don't need the relative height to be very precise, because you already
have the square notation below
2. you read the beneventan neumes directly, without the square notation,
and you need them to have a perfect height
For me the proposal of syntax is ok for the first case, what do you think?
For the second case, here is another proposal: use gabc! What is missing
is mainly a font of the neumes, but once we have it it would be easy to
input the neumes in "classic" gabc, and there could be an option to
remove the lines. What do you think?
I don't know Beneventan notation enough to be able to answer these
questions, so please tell me if you think it are good ideas or not.
Thank you,

Elie
