    - my initial question : are there "standard" latin typographic rules ?

No, I think not. Solesmes uses French punctuation in its books, not "Latin" punctuation (see classical latin literature books, for example).

    - fidelity to the original. Does fidelity goes to typographic
rules. I think yes.

I think not. Music is one thing, punctuation is linked to text, and if you see medieval manuscripts, punctuation almost didn't exist.

her main text and keep the original typographic way in the score.

This is already possible, just selecting your favourite language at the beginning of your document.

A proposal : create gabc with respect of the typographic space of
the original source, and add a gregoriotex macro which will add or
remove the space to conform to non "standard" (I want to say non
solemnensis or other source way) typogaphic use.

Bad idea, IMHO... But with your scores you can do the way you like most.

Good Holy Week to anyone!

Thank you,
I shall think to that.
But please note that we are not speaking of punctuation, nor hyphenation, nor manuscript, but typography...
Buona Settimana Santa.
