Lots of commentary on this question already.....but count me as one of the
fans of this bike (unlike Louis). Yes, it's a peaky little sucker, but
that's part of its charm.
I've come close to buying these on several occasions. It's also the last
bike that I wheelied without trying to..........
Lookin' at a used one, pretty rough shape, tac didn't work. First stop
sign, grade school kids watching, not enough throttle, lugged it and
looked like a fool. Next stop sign, decided to not do that again, so
revved it a bit. Too much it turns out. Let out the clutch and found the
front tire just shy of eye level......quick glance for enforcement types,
seeing none thought I'd give the kids a thrill and kept it there for about
half a block.....YeeeeeHaaaaaa!!
This thing is wild and wooly for its time frame. Lots of fun to ride.
In the twisties it'll teach ya how to shift on the fly, 'cause if you
don't you'll lose the power band fer sher. Light (which is GOOD), and a
hoot to play around on.
Unless the deal is amazing....buy a U.S. bike. Or register it in NM where
we let anything with wheels and a motor on public streets, including my
two-stroke Rickman-Suzuki that has a lamp front and rear to make it
"legal".
Go fer it!
