We believe we know what is causing this and it is specific to the new Eloquence. It doesn't have anything to do with scripting. We will be working on this for future beta releases.

Hello Bob,

I'm not sure the presence or absence of scripts represents the entire story
with the sluggishness. When I simply switch synthesizers to DEC-Talk
Access32, my sluggishness goes away. Things are so much faster! Maybe they
would be even faster if I started turning off scripts, but I'm quite happy
not doing so if the speech synthesis problem could be resolved.

Subject: Sluggishness in List Views

Hi,
I think I've found the cause of the sluggishnes of the 7.0 beta 1. If I
turn off scripts, the sluggishness goes away. When I turn scripts back on,
the lag time comes back. After all. calling scripts does take a little
computing power.
