Hi,
thanks for reviewing it so quickly.

this is a very detailed project proposal indeed. Maybe for other
candidates (also in the future), it is not necessary to send this kind
of sensitive personal information publicly to the mailing list.
I took the effort to spam proof my email, but completly forgot the fact
that other sensitive info is in there. It would be troublesome to remove
it from the archive, right?
Still, I think that Google can't index the archive because it's
accessible only with a login. Addresses and phone numbers aren't too
hard to change anyway and I don't think HelenOS contributors pose much
threat :)
Contents-wise, I find the proposal pretty good. The heavyweight stuff in
the time schedule seems to be squeezed mostly into the second half, but
under the understanding that you have some exams to do, this seems
reasonable. It may be a good idea to propose to compensate for the
reduced project time at the beginning by starting, for example, a bit
earlier (subject to acceptance and before the official coding period
starts), if possible.
I wasn't sure would it be considered cheating if I did start a bit
earlier. From 19th to 24th of May I will be taking part in a
competition, Elektrijada*, so I'm pretty sure I will be unable to start
before my return. I can start then, which would give me another week or
so, if "allowed".
I did not find any mention of the target ISAs. Is this going to be for
all ISAs that HelenOS supports? Or ia32 only? Or perhaps amd64 and ia32?
Or another subset?
I seemed to have left out that part. The bigger the subset the better,
of course. I haven't given it much thought yet, but ia32 is a good
start. Then move on to amd64, then arm32 etc. Ideally, everywhere where
GCC goes, Clang should follow.
I will update my proposal and post it here again, but this time only the
Project part.
After posting the proposal I noticed that the archive put this into an
already existing thread, because I cliked reply, but only changed the
Subject, but it's not much of a problem.
Cheers,
L
* OFFTOPIC: Elektrijada is a big regional competition (24
faculties/universities this year, from ~17 the last year) in many
engineering disciplines and sport. Some folks who read this list might
find some of the C and C++ problems interesting. All are of the type
"What does the program print?", with a few tricks to see how well does
one know the standard. If you have some free time check them out. It
amazes me every year to see how much I mess up. And I think I knew
multiple virtual inheritance.

I would be awesome to see UK students there :)
