My reference to model 42 is from the tag that was attached to it by Osmun.  I 
got it quite a while ago, and I suspect the price on it may have been old.  
There is some lacquer missing, indicating some repairs have been done, but the 
horn is factory tight.  If I offered it for sale, there are several people who 
have played it who would snap it up for $4000-4500.  The main point I'm 
making, and you seem to support, is that there are investment quality instruments 
to be had that have a negative cost of ownership.  Really good instruments 
should hold at least half of their new replacement value.
