The reason I hesitate is because when I tried to install the sourceforge 
package I found that it didn't give 
me /usr/share/ppd/HP/HP-PhotoSmart_7150-hpijs.ppd.gz

Can you check that it does on your install?  I'm not convinced that the 7100 
driver is sufficient.
