well, recording a phrase should work, since it now is a user phrase.  I
only have problems going through the preset phrases.

in a synth voice i can cylce between preset phrases {bass, lead,
..etc} and user

in drum voice i can cycle between presset phrases {bd, sn/hc, hh..et } and
user.

I can always copy the preset phrases to whichever user phrase im on, but
that defeats the ability to scan through the presets.

(just for clarification, I dont use the preset phrases, but they are
convienient for hearing different types of phrases I might not have tought
of.  I got a lot of inspiration by doing that)
