NODAI (Tokyo University of Agriculture). Untuk info lebih lengkapnya dapat
dibaca di bawah ini :

The Fifth International Students Summit will be held on 24-25 November 2005 at the Setagaya Campus of the Tokyo University of Agriculture, Tokyo. The sub-theme for this summit is "Understanding the Importance of International Trade," which was adopted at last year's ISS, and students are expected to understand the impact of international trade, or more broadly globalization, on food, agriculture and environment in the respective countries. Participating students will deliver the results of their studies and activities related to these issues at this ISS in 2005.
The ISS 2005 will have the following sessions:
Opening Session
Session 1: Impact of International Trade on Agriculture and Environment
Session 2: Impact of International Trade on Food Safety
 Closing Session
Keynote speeches will be delivered by two professors, who are international advisors to the ISF. Impacts of international trade and globalization on a country and regional society will be highlighted.
Session 1 will consider the extent and seriousness of the impact of international trade on the respective areas through the country case studies. Since the expanding international trade carries both positive and negative impacts on local agriculture and environment, it is important to consider ways to reduce the negative and increase the positive impact for sustainable development of each society.
Session 2 will focus on the food safety aspect under the increasing international food trade. Some countries struggle to meet the food quality requirements in order to export their agricultural products while other countries are anxious to import safe food. In relation to the expanding food trade, therefore, a question arises as to how to secure food safety for the globe.
In the Closing Session, outcomes of the two-day discussions will be summarized into a joint communique and a common theme for the ISS 2006 will be adopted.
Date: November 24, Thursday-25, Friday, 2005
Venue: Centennial Memorial Auditorium, Tokyo University of Agriculture
Theme: Understanding the Importance of Interntional Trade in Relation to Food, Agriculture and Environment
