I for one never cease to be amazed by the fact that the inevitable thrash over these postings generates orders of magnitude more traffic than if we simply let the offensive (highly subjective qualifier) post sail by. If it's a really blatant case of shameless self-promotion, e.g. check out product x and order before midnight tonight, then a quiet email to Darren would seem to be in order. If it's a response to a question, e.g. product x has a feature that can solve your problem, then it seems to me the reply is of value to at least the original poster.
