Simple is better, believe me. If any of you have worked with MQ
Series which allows mixed case in MQ object names, you know what I
mean. Even though we've standardized on all uppercase names, it's
still a pain - I find myself constantly hitting the caps-lock key
when I have to switch between tasks.

would have to be modified to support lower-case. It's not just "allowing
them in JCL" - some of these parameters are passed to IBM components, and
to vendor products. Can you imagine how much work it would take to support
lower-case?
