Agree. There should be a standard for system layout, system dataset names etc. which also defines ISV software standards. It would ultimately simplify things for customers, ISVs and IBM.

Microsoft dictated a standard directory structure and it greatly simplifies writing software installation procedures, and makes it simpler and more predictable for the end user.
