Why? It's certainly nothing that should stop you. Based on my experience, you'll know RIGHT AWAY if you happen to have "won the lottery" and gotten one that has problems. So it's covered under warranty or return policy. After 15 plus years with Apple, I've noticed one consistent thing: if the machine isn't "bad out of the box" it's likely to be largely trouble-free for years on end. That's not to say that things can't happen out of warranty, but as a rule of thumb serious defects usually show up very quickly after it comes out of the box. Anytime you buy ANYTHING you are taking a risk that it's defective. Think about how many electronic-type items you've bought. How many were bad out of the box? Very few if any, I'm guessing. The chances of you getting a less-than-great model are very slim, but it's naive to pretend that this sort of thing never happens (or that Apple is any more susceptible to it than anyone else). _Chas_ Come to ...
