Jerry:
I looked for an extension related to the SmartDisk but couldn't find
anything with VST or SmartDisk listed.
I suppose the installation was never executed because of the error
message telling me that I first had to have a system folder to install?
I don't want to risk losing any files related to my class project, so
I'll just email myself stuff back and forth from school/the office and
home.
I'm using a used Dalmatian and this was the first time that I've looked
at the extensions. Wow, there's a ton of them.
Do I need them all? Are they sometimes created and then best purged?
Some of them have dates going back to 1999 (I thought my model was newer
than that, oddly). If I were to drag one into the trash, I assume I'd be
disabling the related program or drive, etc?
Ideally, does one know which to delete and does one delete them
routinely as maintenance?
Even though my disk was plugged into one of the two USB ports, sounds
like I shouldn't ever plug things directly into my iMac? I never thought
that would be necessary. This is the prudent thing to do, but do most
folks take the precaution? Guess I'm learning.
Thanks again,
Donald
