I agree it isn't exactly what he said, but I suspect that is where the 
spirit was. Also, without seeing their research, I can't say for sure 
that he isn't correct. Maybe Apple really did find that only 1 or 2 
percent of *new* buyers use Classic. Also, maybe his "new" buyers only 
refers to first time buyers, in which case I would expect almost none to 
use Classic. But I think making a decision on just new users is a major 
mistake that Apple wouldn't make.

I haven't given up Emailer yet. In fact, I've invested pretty significant 
time and resources into make sure I can continue to use Emailer a little 
longer. Loss of Classic would be a major blow to me as I would have to 
leave Emailer, something I'm in no rush to do (and it is actually 
something that would make me think twice about buying an Intel based 
Mac... but it would not cause me to leave the platform, just buy the last 
PPC I could, and then hold out as long as I felt I could).
