Don't hold the control, just hold the 'c' key.

Other than that, you are on the right track.

Keep in mind, if it used to work, and now you are getting a flashing ?
that could mean the drive has died.


Well, the good news is that I was able to boot from CD.

The bad news is that I have no idea what I should do now. I double-clicked on the OS 9.2 icon and it has options for installing it. Is this the way to wipe and re-install?

I don't see anything called 'Disk Util', but whatever I found under utilities (Disk Repair, actually) seems greyed out (repair/verify disk). It's reading the CD and not the hard drive?

I guess I'll try the install folders to see if there's a way to zero out the hard drive there.
