It is under the optional installs on the root level of the DVD. Then go to applications & you will see X 11.

I've got exactly that problem - I've run a find command (I work with unix for a living) but still can't find it.

Whereabouts on the DVD will I find it? I don't want to accidentally install the whole operating system again! Step-by-step instructions would be appreciated.
