Dual core processors abound. The "for the price of one" is because the two cores share a lot - only 2 MB cache, lower bandwidth, etc.

There's a great deal of harm. First of all, I think Apple would say that Microsoft should have "first dibs" on making (either via Virtual PC or some other way) a "bridge" to Windows Vista. Second, you don't actually know that it isn't Vista compatible. Nobody's tried.

Currently Windows cannot be booted onto the new x86 Macs. Windows requires BIOS. The Macs are EFI-based. MS has stated that an EFI-compatible Vista will be released eventually. That version will boot on the x86 Macs.
