I think it is just a magnet issue. You can feel the magnets repel from
each other if you don't have it in just the right spot.

I played with it a bunch more last night, and it might be that I've been
putting the remote upside down. Well, no, that I've been putting the
remote rightside-up, and you NEED to put it upside down.

The mac comes with no obvious directions about what to do with the
remote, and my natural instict was to place it so the labels were
readable and the IR emitter was up. When I do this, it is very
tempermental about being in the exact right spot.

But if you flip the remote upside down, so the labels are now upside
down and the IR emitter is down, it seems to stick to the side just fine
and pulls itself to the right spot.

Looking at the pics on Apple's web site, and it shows it as being hung
the way I originally tried (right-side up), but I'm going to do it the
"wrong" way for a while and see if that ends up working better.
