Yup, XP leap frogged OS X when it comes to viewing folders full of pics. That thumbnail view (works with any media file that XP can deal with), is
very handy.

The closest OS X has is view the folder is multi-column view, then the
last column becomes a preview of the file you have selected. This will
show a preview for any file, not just media files.

It isn't as nice as XP's thumbnail view and slide show view, but it is
better than nothing.

I dunno... is there anything like iPhoto for Windows? I personally don't see why people want to use the *filesystem* viewer as a photo viewer. (Or as an MP3 "player," for that matter... iTunes is so much better.)
