Couple of questions.

1.  How does iPhoto know where the original image file is?

2.  What happens if you move the orignal image file (i.e., does iPhoto
somehow automatically track the move or do you have to "tell" it what
the new file location is)?

Thanks for your help (I have thousands of image files on my computer so
this is a pretty big deal for me!)
