Dale and Chris,
I tried to send the list a screenshot, but it exceeded the allowable limit.

I beg to differ. When I Control-click on a folder on my desktop called "Pix" I can see a contextual menu with a sub-list of every one of the photos in the folder. All I have to do is to mouse-over each one and a thumbnail of the photo appears. I have available to me many options in the contextual menu. If I click on one of the thumbnails, it opens in a full sized photo, which I can then use in other ways too.

But, then again, I stay current with the OS, I'm running 10.4.4, whereas 10.3.9 is four updates behind. If you are comparing Mac OS to XPee's latest incarnation, shouldn't you compare it to the most recent OS?

Did you try using the Control key to bring up the contextual menu? Many people forget that the Control and Option keys are modifiers. If your 10.3.9 won't give you the feature convenience you are looking for, download and try the five-star (and free) QuickImageCM contextual menu plugin from here:

It may do what you want if you really want to use that older OS on your Mac. Panther (10.3) was release 10/24/2003 and 10.3.9 was released 4/15/2005. It is close to a year old. There have been many improvements and enhancements during that time.
Cheers,
John

Think of iPhoto as an application for photo management, not necessarily as an application photo editing.

What good is a tool that requires you to dump all your photos out of your "shoebox" and re-arrange them in the manner required by that tool?

Tools like GraphicConverter will let you browse whole directory trees, without screwing up your filing system.
